The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), as part of the Global Hubs Network led by Cornell University, participated in the 2024 Global Hubs Network Meeting held in London from October 31 to November 2, 2024. The event was jointly hosted by Imperial College London, King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, University College London and University of Edinburgh.
During the meeting, Prof. Naubahar SHARIF, Head of HKUST’s Division of Public Policy, Cornell PhD alumnus and recipient of the Cornell-HKUST Collaboration Award, shared insights on the university’s research and development efforts in sustainability and artificial intelligence (AI). Additionally, Ms. Yvonne LI, Head of Global Engagement and Greater China Affairs, presented the flagship International Summer Undergraduate Inbound Research Program and the International Track for the signature One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition, emphasizing HKUST’s commitment to enhancing student mobility and transformative experience.
In a continued effort to expand the partnership, a delegation from Cornell University visited HKUST on Nov 8, led by Prof. Wendy WOLFORD, Vice Provost for International Affairs, and Prof. Greg MORRISETT, Dean and Vice Provost of Cornell Tech. The visit included a series of five collaborative workshops on a wide range of research areas including medical applications, computer science, healthy aging, and sustainability. HKUST remains committed to broadening and deepening international research collaborations, enhancing collective effort to address global challenges of our time.
