The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted a delegation from UNESCO, led by former Director-General Mrs. Irina BOKOVA, on campus on May 13.
HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP met with Mrs. Bokova and her delegation, in attendance of HKUST senior leaders, including Associate Vice-President (Global Engagement & Communications) Ms. Daisy CHAN, Acting Dean of Students Prof. King CHOW, and Acting Head of the Division of Public Policy Prof. Naubahar SHARIF.
During the meeting, Mrs. Bokova shared insights about the impacts of climate change on preserving cultural heritage and discussed related challenges. The HKUST team outlined the university’s efforts to foster an inclusive and diverse global community through student internationalization.
This engaging exchange reaffirmed HKUST's commitment to cultivating a welcoming and collaborative environment where all members can thrive. HKUST will continue to drive meaningful progress on global challenges through its pursuit of education and research excellence.
