The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Dean of Humanities and Social Science Prof. Kellee was invited to share her expertise at The Growth Summit hosted by the World Economic Forum. The summit took place from May 2-3, 2023 at the WEF headquarters in Geneva, convening leaders across business, government, civil society, international organizations and academia leaders working across sectors, industries and geographic boundaries. It aimed to advance future opportunities and tackle current challenges through collaboration and innovation.

Prof. Kellee Tsai shared her insight on the topic "The Return of the State: Where Next for Industrial Policy?" in a globally live-streamed dialogue. Other speakers included Mmusi KGAFELA, Minister of Trade and Industry for Botswana; Mark SWILLING, Chairman of the Development Bank of Southern Africa; Gero CORMAN, Head of Digital Technologies and Platforms at Volkswagen Group; and Andrea RIZZI, Global Affairs Correspondent for El Pais.
