HKUST Unicorn Day Unites Global Innovators to Turn Bold Ideas into Impact
Nearly 1,300 global investors, industry leaders and government and academia representatives from over a dozen countries converged at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for Unicorn Day – now one of the largest entrepreneurial events in Hong Kong’s higher education sector. Attendees explored partnerships and exchanged ideas to drive innovation. 
The jacket autographed by Dr. Jensen Huang, featuring his personal message, earned a pledge of HK$10 million from HKUST Council Member and alumnus Mr. Terry TSANG.

A constellation of over 200 influential leaders from academia, industry and philanthropy converged last Saturday at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for the spectacular inaugural Gala Dinner celebrating the official launch of the HKUST Foundation. The landmark event, a testament to the community’s profound commitment to future innovation and talent, successfully raised over HK$35 million. The remarkable sum, significantly boosted by the iconic leather jackets signed by Dr. Jensen HUANG, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA and a 2024 HKUST Honorary Doctor of Engineering, alongside his generous matching donations, will powerfully advance HKUST’s ambitious vision for nurturing world-class talent and pioneering groundbreaking innovation.

HKUST Hosts Health Day to Showcase MedTech and Build a Healthy Community (Chinese Version Only)
醫療科技進步有助提升大眾生活質素,但個人身體健康則有賴良好生活習慣。有見及此,香港科技大學(科大)今日(4月11日)舉辦的第三屆同樂日,特別以運動和健康為主題,於校園內設置多個以滑雪、賽車、單車、籃球及拳撃等活動攤位,為現場逾千名科大師生、校友、中小學生和公眾人士,進行體能與智力的大考驗。  除攤位遊戲外,科大亦設置展覽,介紹多個由科大團隊研發的最新醫療科技,涵蓋睡眠測試、檢測癌症細胞成像技術、預防青光眼裝置、視網膜疾病藥物導入及AI牙齒檢測技術。其中科大老齡科學研究中心更提供兩部VR健身單車機,結合虛擬街景,讓參加者由科大踩單車「出發」遊歷九龍市區。此設備平日設置於長者復康中心,旨在提升長者的運動能力及認知能力。  科大現正申請建立香港第三間醫學院,多位同學與現場參與者於校園內一幅標示著「Shaping the Future of Medicine(塑造醫學未來發展)」的大型馬賽克壁畫上,踴躍張貼打氣字句,齊齊「集氣」支持科大推動醫學創新。 
科大理學院仿照城寨主題特別打造的「理記士多」昨天正式營業,代表香港的攤位展示了數十件來自七十至九十年代的經典零食與玩具,包括眼鏡朱古力、珍寶珠、西瓜波、扭蛋扭卡機等。

HKUST Hosts International Cultural Fair – Discover the World in One Place (Chinese Version Only)
香港科技大學(科大)昨日橫空出現一所城寨士多,沒有「龍捲風」也並非「三不管地帶」,卻雲集了科大來自17個國家及地區同學的創意和熱情,在香港七、八十年代的城寨佈景下,交流各方家鄉的獨特文化與集體回憶。 這個為期兩天的「環球文化祭」由科大理學院舉辦,旨在促進本地與國際生的文化交流。今年的活動共設有36個特色攤位,由105位來自 17個國家和地區的同學精心設計,當中更首度邀得來自非洲、阿塞拜疆、哈薩克斯坦、蒙古、尼泊爾、法國、烏茲別克斯坦及英國等地的學生參與,推廣各自家鄉的獨特文化; 包括品嘗法國傳統食品、演奏瑞典民俗樂器、試穿烏茲別克傳統服飾及學習尼泊爾傳統民俗舞蹈等,當然也少不了香港本土的傳統懷舊玩具和小食如眼鏡朱古力、珍寶珠、西瓜波及扭蛋扭卡機等。活動吸引逾千名來自不同文化背景的師生參與,不僅於考試時期為同學帶來放鬆的一刻,更讓學生擴闊國際視野,認識不同文化。 科大國際本科生比例一直名列本港大學之冠。過去數年,科大學士課程每年所錄取的非本地生中,近半來自中國內地以外。除歐、美、澳、非洲及亞洲等地,亦有同學來自「一帶一路」及其它較少來港就讀國家,包括烏茲別克、摩爾多瓦、委內瑞拉和也門等。大學會不時舉辦活動,讓這些來自全球逾40個國家及80多個地區的教職員和學生互相交流,體驗多元文化的魅力。

Government Launches Regulatory Sandbox Pilot Projects at HKUST
The Government announced today (March 20) the list of the first batch of low-altitude economy (LAE) Regulatory Sandbox pilot projects, which will be rolled out progressively, to enable members of the public to "see and feel" the tangible benefits of the LAE. These projects will also allow the Government and relevant sectors to simulate diversified scenarios, multiple air routes and overarching low-altitude airspace management matters, while accumulating data and experience to guide the work on multiple fronts including regulations, infrastructure, and applications.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the Donor Appreciation Reception and Chinese New Year Celebration on February 17, 2025, at the University’s Shaw Auditorium. The event brought together over 120 esteemed guests, including donors, alumni, and supporters of HKUST, providing an opportunity for the University to express its appreciation whilst celebrating Chinese New Year.

The Inaugural International Forum on Interdisciplinary Education (the Forum), organized by the Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), was successfully held on November 16, 2024 on the Clear Water Bay campus. The Forum brought together university leaders from around the globe to exchange innovative practices in interdisciplinary education and foster collaboration across diverse fields of study.

HKUST Holds Congregation 2024 Conferring Honorary Doctoral Degrees on Four Distinguished Leaders
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) held its Congregation 2024 today (November 23). The occasion witnessed the conferment of Honorary Doctorates upon four prominent and distinguished leaders by HKUST Pro-Chancellor Dr. John CHAN Cho-Chak, in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments and contributions. Also joining the ceremony included HKUST Council Chairman Prof. Harry SHUM, HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP, and other members of the senior management team.
