The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) was honored to welcome H.E. Hussain bin Ibrahim Al HAMMADI, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China, and his delegation to the campus on January 22.
The Ambassador and his delegation were warmly received by Prof. Nancy IP, President of HKUST, as they engaged in a dynamic meeting led by Provost Prof. GUO Yike. The discussion explored a wide range of opportunities to enhance collaboration and foster stronger bonds between the UAE and HKUST.
The delegation then witnessed firsthand the pioneering research and state-of-the-art facilities at the Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute and the Aerodynamics and Acoustics Facility, guided by our Faculty experts Prof. ZHANG Fumin and Prof. ZHANG Xin respectively.
In addition to demonstrating shared aspirations and a mutual commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and innovation between the UAE and HKUST, the visit marked a milestone for international engagement, aligning seamlessly with the Belt and Road Initiative. HKUST anticipates partnership opportunities that lie ahead, as it embraces a new chapter of global connectivity and progress.
