HKUST and CEDD Sign MoU on Research Studies
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today (February 28) to set out the framework of collaboration on research studies related to sustainable infrastructure development and land formation.          The MoU was signed by the Vice-President for Research and Development of HKUST, Prof. Tim CHENG, and the Director of Civil Engineering and Development, Mr. Michael FONG, and witnessed by the President of HKUST, Prof. Nancy IP, and the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr. Ricky LAU. The MoU, effective from March 1 for a duration of two years, will cover research areas in novel construction materials, innovative landslide mitigation strategies, digitalization, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, as well as innovative engineering and sustainable solutions.

HKUST Engages Top UK and US Medical Schools to Advance Creation of Hong Kong’s Third Medical School
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is receiving advisory support from Imperial College London (Imperial) and engaging with the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego) to pursue the establishment of the city’s third medical school, advancing medical education and clinical training. Echoing the government’s vision of building a third medical school that nurtures more doctors to meet the local demands and assists Hong Kong’s development into an international health and medical innovation hub, HKUST believes that new generations of doctors must possess the ability to serve and lead within the local context and leverage cutting-edge advancements in the global landscape of health and research.

HKUST Forges Strategic Partnerships with Top Mainland Hospital and Institutions to Expand Its Medical Education Network in the Greater Bay Area
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has recently established strategic partnership with The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU), Southern Medical University (SMU), and Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) respectively. These individual partners will engage in in-depth collaboration with HKUST on areas such as clinical education, talent cultivation, medical research, and translation of innovations, injecting new impetus into the advancement of medical education and healthcare services.

HKUST Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Guangzhou Municipal Government
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, following their partnership to establish HKUST(Guangzhou), have signed a comprehensive strategic agreement today. This agreement will facilitate in-depth collaboration in three key areas:  industry-academia-research integration, life sciences research and medical innovation, and training of innovative talents. Both parties will establish a long-term exchange mechanism to jointly promote sustainable economic growth, new industrialization, and the development of new productive forces.

HKUST Signs Framework Agreement with CSU.CAS
A delegation from the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CSU.CAS), responsible for China's manned space research and application projects, visited the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) today. During the visit, they met with the university's senior management and faculty, culminating in the signing of a framework agreement designed to enhance collaboration in five critical areas: establishing a joint laboratory, promoting research partnerships, co-sharing research facilities and systems, facilitating talent development, and fostering international cooperation. By combining their respective strengths and resources, the agreement seeks to jointly advance research and technology in aerospace engineering, contributing to the nation's space endeavors.
