HKUST welcomed over 20 journalists representing 10 media organizations from Mainland China, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) welcomed over 20 journalists representing 10 media organizations from Mainland China, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand today. The visit highlighted HKUST’s world-class research and facilities ahead of the inaugural Hong Kong Laureate Forum.

Organized by the Hong Kong Laureate Forum, the tour provided a preview of the weeklong academic exchange from November 13-18,2023. The Forum will bring together Shaw Laureates and distinguished scientists to interact with about 200 young scientists from various parts of the world, sharing their views, experiences, and aspirations in different scientific fields. 

The media delegation was greeted by HKUST Provost Prof. Guo Yike before touring state-of-the-art HKUST research facilities, including the Aerodynamics and Acoustics Facility, State Key Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience, Biological Cryo-EM Center and Nanosystem Fabrication Facility.

As pioneers of innovation, HKUST is committed to nurturing future generations of leaders in scientific pursuit, as well as promoting understanding and interests of the young generation in Hong Kong and around the world in various disciplines in science and technology.
