The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) embraced a week of French flair, connecting with philanthropic institutions from France.
In close collaboration with Fondation de France (FDF), HKUST participated in the inaugural gala hosted by FDF Asia on July 2 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. The HKUST team met with the representatives of selected philanthropic organizations funded by FDF headquarter in France, including Fondation HEC Paris, Fondation École Polytechnique, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Institut Imagine and Handicap International.
On July 4, HKUST Director of the France-HKUST Innovation Hub Prof. YEUNG King Lun and Prof. Stéphane REDONNET of the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department were invited to present their research projects to the French delegations at the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau.
On July 5, HKUST welcomed the French delegation on HKUST campus. The French delegation had a fruitful meeting with Prof. MAK Ho Yi, Director of the Biosciences Central Research Facility and representatives from the Development and Alumni Office to explore potential collaborations in the arenas of bioscience research and student mobility. The program concluded with a visit to HKUST’s Joint Laboratory on Health and Environmental Innovations and The French Centre for Research on Contemporary China (CEFC) nestled in the HKUST campus.
HKUST anticipates more fruitful collaborations with FDF in the years to come for the betterment of society.
