Three faculty members from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) participated in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils (GFC) held from October 16 to 18, 2023, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
GFC is the world’s foremost multistakeholder and interdisciplinary knowledge network dedicated to promoting innovative thinking. At the meeting, members of 30 GFCs joined together to develop proposals for collaboration that can create transformative change in the next three years and the ideas will be published in an insight report for Summer Davos in January 2024. Prof. King CHOW, Prof. Pascale FUNG and Prof Pan HUI were selected to join the GFC on Synthetic Biology, Artificial Intelligence and Metaverse, respectively.
The event brought together more than 450 global experts from over 80 countries to exchange insights and advance solutions addressed harnessing artificial intelligence, accelerating the green transition, reviving productivity, addressing antimicrobial resistance and stabilizing trade.
