HKUST-Sino One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition 2024
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Sino Group have long been partners in nurturing the next generation of creative talents, organising the 'HKUST-SINO One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition’ as a platform for aspiring young entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions. This year, a record-breaking 340 teams from Hong Kong and around the world participated in the competition, with a new ‘International Student Track’ introduced for overseas university students. This initiative fosters collaboration between local and overseas universities, stimulating creative exchanges among global talents.

HKUST Visits Jiangsu and Receives Funds from Wuxi EDZ to Support Start-up Incubation and Enhance Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration
A high-level delegation led by the President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Prof. Nancy IP paid a visit to Jiangsu Province this week with 20 HKUST DeepTech start-ups to showcase the University’s innovations and entrepreneurial achievements. During the trip, the start-ups explored potential business partnerships with over 100 local enterprises, and HKUST signed a cooperation agreement with the Wuxi Economic Development Zone (Wuxi EDZ) to jointly promote innovation and start-up incubation, fostering deeper collaboration among industry, academic and research sectors between Hong Kong and Jiangsu.

HKUST, CUHK, HKU and NUS Receive HK$50 million from GS Charity Foundation in Support of Research and Talent Development on Pure Mathematics
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), The University of Hong Kong (HKU), and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have received a total of HK$50 million donation from GS Charity Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Glorious Sun Group.  This contribution is intended to support academic research and talent cultivation in pure mathematics over the next five years.   Acknowledging the pivotal role and boundless potential of fundamental mathematics in driving technological innovation, the donation from GS Charity Foundation seeks to empower these top universities to spearhead initiatives in nurturing talent, fostering academic exchange and promotion international collaboration.

HKUST and Peking Union Medical College Hospital
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) recently signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement in Beijing to foster collaboration on talent exchange and research.  The agreement was signed by HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP and PUMCH President Prof. ZHANG Shuyang, and witnessed by HKUST Associate Provost (Mainland Affairs) Prof. Penger TONG, Acting Head of Division of Integrative Systems and Design Prof. ZHANG Qian, PUMCH Secretary of the Party Committee Prof. WU Peixin, as well as PUMCH Vice President Prof. HAN Ding, among others.

HKUST Receives Donation from Shanghai Medical and Innovation Development Foundation to Nurture Innovative Medical Talent on Neurological Health Front
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) recently received a donation from the Shanghai Medical and Innovation Development Foundation (SMIDF), in support of the University’s “Mainland Innovative Medical Talent Cultivation Program (Brain Health)” with mainland Chinese hospitals. Aging populations worldwide are increasing the demand for effective healthcare solutions. To meet the evolving challenges in medicine and address future societal demands, the medical sector urgently needs medical talent with expertise in both scientific research and clinical practice. HKUST is dedicated to advancing research, fostering innovation, and nurturing future leaders and innovators in the medical field, which spawned the launch of the "Mainland Innovative Medical Talent Training Program" (the Program).

HKUST and Li & Fung Launch Supply Chain Institute
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Li & Fung, a member of Fung Group, jointly announced today the establishment of the HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute (the Institute), aimed at advancing research and practices in global supply chain management (SCM) innovation. The Institute brings together HKUST’s research excellence and Li & Fung’s industry expertise in supply chain management to drive real-world impact across the Greater Bay Area, Greater China, Asia, and globally, while contributing to Hong Kong’s development into a multinational supply chain management center — a strategic objective highlighted in the city’s latest Budget. It aims to reach these goals by engaging in collaborative research, developing business intelligence through industry research and policy studies, and fostering talent development through customized executive education and partnership programs.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Beijing Tiantan Hospital of the Capital Medical University (Beijing Tiantan Hospital) signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement today to jointly nurture innovative medical talents with expertise in both research and clinical practice.
