The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) was honored to welcome H.E. Dr. Jae-Ho CHUNG, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to China, and his delegation to our campus on December 1. Dr. Chung has a significant affiliation with HKUST, as he has been a respected scholar and notable former faculty member of the Division of Social Science.
Accompanied by Prof. Kellee TSAI, Dean of Humanities and Social Science, Dr. Chung toured our state-of-the-art library and the School of Humanities and Social Science. Additionally, he engaged in a dynamic dialogue session with our Korean students and faculty members, sharing his unique insights from his remarkable career and gathering feedback from the Korean community on campus.
The visit culminated in a fruitful meeting with President Prof. Nancy IP and other key members of the leadership team. Dr. Chung was introduced the latest university developments, the Korean student admissions process, and collaborations with Korean educational institutions. Considering the Ambassador’s unique connection with HKUST, his presence on our campus was truly a memorable and meaningful one. HKUST remains dedicated to fostering deepened collaborations and strengthening the bonds with the Republic of Korea.
