HKUST Strengthens International Ties with UAE Institutions

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted a delegation from The American University of Sharjah (AUS), led by Chancellor Dr. Tod LAURSEN, on campus on May 13.

The AUS delegation had a fruitful meeting with HKUST leaders including Associate Vice-President (Global Engagement & Communications) Ms. Daisy CHAN, Dean of Engineering Prof. Hong LO and Dean of Science Prof. Yung Hou WONG. The AUS representatives shared their university's emphasis on broadening international student admissions, enhancing student mobility and developing interdisciplinary programs. They were also impressed with HKUST’s strengths in research innovation and commitment in expanding student exchange partnerships globally.

The visit concluded with a tour of HKUST's state-of-the-art facilities including the Cheng Kar-Shun Robotics Institute and Shaw Auditorium.

This visit strengthened ties between the two institutions and paved the way for continued collaboration in support of HKUST's internationalization and global engagement strategies in the United Arab Emirates.
