The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the "VPRDO Research and Innovation Series – Exploring German Research and Innovation: Opportunities and Insights" on December 12. The event featured a fireside chat moderated by Prof. Tim CHENG, HKUST Vice-President for Research and Development, with Mrs. Stefanie SEEDIG, Deputy Consul-General of German Consulate General Hong Kong, and Dr. Miriam BRANDT, Advisor Science & Innovation from the Consulate as speakers. 

During the chat, Prof. Cheng showcased the robust research ecosystem and entrepreneurship development at HKUST. Mrs. Seedig then shared insights on the strong ties between Germany and Hong Kong, while Dr. Brandt provided an overview of Germany's research landscape, highlighting independent research institutes, key research fields, and funding opportunities for international researchers.
