The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the International Leadership Forum on November 8, 2023. The forum convened over 50 leading figures and academics from 22 universities across 15 Asian economies. The Forum sparked insightful discussions on two pivotal topics: "Global Synergy: The Role of University Collaboration in Sharing Data for SDGs" and "Measuring Impact: Assessing Universities' Sustainability Initiatives."
The panelists include Prof. Ilesanmi ADESIDA, Acting President and Provost of Nazarbayev University; Prof. Nobuhiro HAYASHI, Vice President for International Affairs of Tokyo Institute of Technology; Prof. H.D. KARUNARATNE, Vice Chancellor of University of Colombo, Sri Lanka; Prof. LUM Sau Kim, Associate Vice President, Global Relations of National Singapore University; Prof. Ahmed MURAD, Associate Provost for Research of United Arab Emirates University; Prof Hongwei WANG, Vice President of Tsinghua University and moderators Dr. Chuanjie ZHANG, Secretary of the Asian Universities Alliance, and Dr. Alison Elizabeth LLOYD, Associate Provost (Institutional Data and Research) of HKUST.
Prof. WANG Yang, Vice-President for Institutional Advancement at HKUST, emphasized in his address the University's dedication to engaging stakeholders across the spectrum to collaborate and foster novel ideas and practices to work collectively towards a sustainable world. Through open communication and knowledge sharing, the University is actively forming new partnerships through collaborative research projects and joint programs to nurture future global leaders.
