HKUST hosted the Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU) Summer Institute for Extended Flipped Education 2023 from July 16-23, bringing together 27 talented undergraduate and master's students from partner institutions.
During the one-week intensive program, the students got to experience the best of both worlds - classroom learning and real-world exploration. Students participated in interactive classes and engaging activities around Hong Kong, including visits to some of the city's most iconic landmarks, such as Tai Kwun, Central Market, and the West Kowloon Cultural District. They also enjoyed the scenic Duk Ling harbor cruise and campus orientation.
The program provided the students with a deeper understanding of China's evolution and modernization across different eras. Participants had the opportunity to witness the seamless blending of Hong Kong's rich past with the present, as well as the city's dedicated conservation efforts in preserving the invaluable historic establishments.
