HKUST hosted the flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on July 1, 2023. The event was attended by esteemed guests, HKUST's Court and Council members, senior management, faculty, student, staff, alumni, and friends, including:
Ms. LU Xinning, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government (LOCPG) in the HKSAR;
Mr. LI Jiyi, Director General of the New Territories Sub-Office of the LOCPG in the HKSAR; Ms. WU Cheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the LOCPG in the HKSAR; Ms. LI Mei Sheung, Michelle, JP, Permanent Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government;
Dr. John C. C. Following the flag-raising ceremony, guests were treated to piano and vocal performances presented by both current HKUST students and alumni in the Shaw Auditorium.
