The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) warmly welcomed a delegation from The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) on November 13, led by Vice-Chancellor and President Prof. Attila BRUNGS, accompanied by Prof. Nick WAILES, Dean of Lifelong Learning, and Ms. Rachel WEI, China Country Director.

The delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with HKUST leadership, including Provost Prof. GUO Yike, Associate Provost (Institutional Data and Research) Dr. Alison LLOYD, and Assistant Vice-President for Institutional Advancement (Global Engagement) Prof. Angela NG. The meeting reaffirmed both universities’ strong commitment to advancing academic cooperation and executive education.

HKUST and UNSW Sydney continue to support the Global Knowledge Network, a joint seed grant initiative that fosters collaborative research partnerships between the two institutions. The dialogue also highlighted promising opportunities for cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, climate science, and biomedical research.

The visit underscored the shared vision of HKUST and UNSW Sydney to harness global partnerships in driving innovation and impactful research. Both institutions expressed enthusiasm for deepening the strategic relationship to accelerate future discoveries.
