The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) participated in the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA) Executives’ Meeting hosted by Seoul National University from November 25 – 27. The meeting brought together more than 40 leaders from AUA member institutions.

HKUST was represented by Dr. Shin Cheul KIM, Associate Vice-President for Research and Development (Knowledge Transfer), and Prof. Carrie LING, Director of the Entrepreneurship Center. As the Inaugural Convenor of the AUA Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Network, HKUST shared the outcomes of programs hosted on campus under the umbrella of the network, since its launch in November 2024. Prof. Ling highlighted the successful collaborations showcased at HKUST Unicorn Day in June and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in July, both with active participation from AUA member institutions. These initiatives are testament to the shared dedication to fostering innovation, research, and entrepreneurial mindsets in higher education across the region.

The meeting concluded with the official handover of the I&E Network convenorship for 2025–2026 to Tsinghua University, marking a new chapter in the alliance’s collective efforts to strengthen collaboration and advance innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives across Asia.
