City-wide 35th Anniversary Promotion

As part of our 35th anniversary celebrations, HKUST is bringing its "Where Miracles Happen" message to communities across Hong Kong through a citywide branding campaign.

The celebrations began on campus after the University launched its 35th anniversary campaign in mid-March. Since then, visitors, students, alumni, and staff have been welcomed by a vibrant display of anniversary branding featuring the "Where Miracles Happen" theme and 35th anniversary key visuals. From colorful buntings and large pillar wraps to vertical banners and giant fabric posters, the campus has been transformed into a festive showcase of HKUST's milestone year.

Beyond campus, commemorative lamppost banners were on display throughout the spring along roads leading to the University, as well as in Diamond Hill and Hang Hau, helping to share the anniversary spirit with the wider community.

Building on these efforts, HKUST is now taking the celebration across the city. Our anniversary branding appeared over the summer on dozens of Citybus and Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) vehicles traveling through some of Hong Kong's busiest districts across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories.

Meanwhile, one of Hong Kong's iconic trams will proudly carry the anniversary theme along the historic route between Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town until mid-September.

If you have been traveling this summer, you may have already seen our 35th-anniversary campaign featured in five illuminated lightboxes in Terminal 1's Departure Hall at Hong Kong International Airport.

The celebratory spirit will also extend to the MTR network. HKUST will leverage the MTR Trackside Digital panels to share its 35th anniversary theme with the people of Hong Kong. From September 14 to October 25 this year, the anniversary theme video will showcase our 35-year journey of innovation, development, and remarkable achievements to millions of passengers on 114 large trackside digital panels across 34 major MTR stations.

Later this year, passengers will also have the opportunity to spot the "Where Miracles Happen" sticker on the backs of seats on the Citybus and KMB networks from October 4 to  November 14.

Through these displays, we celebrate this important HKUST milestone and thank the people of Hong Kong for their support in helping us grow into a globally recognized, research-intensive university over the past 35 years.

Wherever you are in the city, we hope these glimpses of our anniversary celebrations remind you of the remarkable community that has made HKUST what it is today.

And when you spot a "Where Miracles Happen" advertisement, snap a photo and share it with us on social media—we'd love to see it!
