Prof. Nancy IP, President of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), joined global leaders at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. As the sole university president representing Hong Kong, she participated in high-level dialogues on neuroscience, the evolving role of universities, the future of global research, and health innovation.Held under the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue", this year's Annual Meeting convened over 3,000 esteemed leaders from government, business, civil society, and academia from more than 130 countries—including nearly 65 heads of state and about 850 top CEOs—to address complex geopolitical and technological challenges.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the international conference “When Ultrafast Spectroscopy Meets AI: Challenges and Opportunities” from December 5 to 8, 2025. The event brought more than 70 leading scholars from Chinese Mainland and the United States to the Clear Water Bay campus to explore the innovative applications of ultrafast spectroscopy and artificial intelligence (AI) in frontier scientific research. Centered on the theme of “AI for Science,” the conference aimed to build an open and intellectually rigorous platform, spark new scientific ideas, and promote regional collaboration and interdisciplinary innovation.
