Now rated the number one university in Hong Kong by the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2018, HKUST’s star continues to rise.
A key factor determining these rankings is, of course, the quality of a university’s faculty. Attracting and recognizing the very best academic talent is one of the key objectives of HKUST’s five-year strategic plan, and this latest QS accolade is yet another confirmation that this goal is being realized.
Once again this year, the University will recognize and celebrate the academic and research excellence of some of its most eminent faculty, in the 4th Inauguration Ceremony of Named Professorships to be held on Oct 27. This significant recognition was first introduced in 2013, the objective of the Named Professorships is to uphold the University’s remarkable tradition of attracting the best scholars, both in the region and from around the globe, and retaining outstanding academicians at HKUST. This year the work and achievements of 15 named professors are acknowledged.
