Biography
Ms. Yvonne Ho was appointed Associate Vice-President (Projects), effective 1 July 2024.
Ms. Ho joined the administration of HKUST at its inception in 1991, rose through the ranks and served as the University's Director of Human Resources from 2006 to 2018. Subsequently, she assumed the role of Director of Human Resources at her alma mater, The University of Hong Kong (HKU), as its third Director of Human Resources until June 2024. Ms. Ho received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies & Comparative Literature and Translation from HKU, and Master of Business Administration degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). She is a Member of the Beta Sigma Gamma CUHK Chapter.
Ms. Ho brings with her a wealth of experience and accomplishments in the field of human resources within the local higher education sector. Her involvement in various seminal projects in the sector has provided her with unique insights and experiences across multiple areas, including university governance, faculty and research personnel systems, administrative, business, and professional functions, as well as project and initiative management.
Areas of Responsibility
As a senior member of the President's team, the AVP (Projects) will provide support for strategic initiatives and collaborate with the University community to drive relevant projects forward, with a primary objective of advancing the University's agenda in alignment with its mission and strategic visions. Responsibilities of the role include developing and coordinating proposals and programs, engaging with senior leadership, governing and funding bodies, as well as key internal and external stakeholders. The role will also provide executive and committee support, facilitate consensus-building and synergies across academic and administrative units, and oversee the coordination and monitoring of related programs to ensure the effective progression of the University’s strategic priorities.
