The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) today (Friday) conferred Honorary Fellowships on five distinguished leaders in recognition of their contributions.

A charity garage sale with over 160 tables of new and second-hand goods will be held in the car park at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology this Saturday, 6 June 2009, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The International Mathematical Union (IMU) and the Chern Medal Foundation (CMF) are launching a major new prize in mathematics, the Chern Medal Award. The Award is established in memory of the outstanding mathematician Shiing-Shen Chern (1911, Jiaxing, China – 2004, Tianjin, China).

Over 300 students, alumni and staff at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) took part in a Fun Run today (Sunday) to bid farewell to the outgoing President, and to raise funds for sports development at the university.

HKUST graduates of year 2008 remain much sought after in the employment market, with 98.3% of them having found jobs, started businesses, or pursued further studies by December 2008, according to the University's Graduate Employment Survey.
