HKUST Ranks No 1 in Asia for Third Straight Year
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) was just named the top university in Asia for the third straight year by the highly reputable Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings: Asia.Mr. Ben Sowter, Head of Research at QS Intelligence Unit highlighted that Asian higher education is undergoing a rapid transformation, and China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea are at the forefront of the assault on the global academic leadership positions. There are already 17% more Asian universities in the global top 200 since the recession, and the next two decades could see leading US and European universities objectively overtaken.

HKUST among the First in Asia and Only One from Greater China to Become Global Online Education Partner of Coursera
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is among the first in Asia and the only university in Greater China to sign an agreement today (19 September) with Coursera to bring HKUST's courses online worldwide. Coursera is an education technology organization founded by computer science professors from Stanford University. Coursera's current partners comprise world leading universities such as Stanford University, Princeton University, University of Michigan, and the University of Washington. With today's announcement, HKUST will be hosting three debut online courses reaching students across the globe.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is delighted that the highly reputable Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings: Asia has once again named HKUST the top university in Asia, making it two years in a row.According to the QS University Rankings: Asia released today, HKUST has maintained its top position in Asia. The University ranked first in the QS Rankings in 2011.

HKUST Announces Latest Results of Fall 2011 World Class Tests in Mathematics and Problem Solving
World Class Tests in Mathematics and Problem Solving under the administration of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) announced the results of the November 2011 tests today. Students taking the tests are shown to be very competent, with half of them achieving distinction. Candidates possessing a flair for explaining the reasoning process also do well in both the Mathematics and Problem Solving papers.This observation was made based on the results of 2,941 students who took part in the November 2011 World Class Tests for the 8-11 age group and the 12-14 age group. These include 2,617 students from 156 primary schools and 324 students from 73 secondary schools.

HKUST Announces Latest Results of Spring 2011 World Class Tests in Mathematics and Problem Solving
World Class Tests in Mathematics and Problem Solving under the administration of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) announced the results of the April 2011 tests today. Students taking the tests are shown to be very competent, with half of them achieving distinction. Candidates possessing a flair for explaining the reasoning process also do well in both the Mathematics and Problem Solving papers.This observation was made based on the results of 2,076 students who took part in the April 2011 World Class Tests for the 8-11 age group and the 12-14 age group. These include 1,627 students from 145 primary schools and 449 students from 70 secondary schools.

HKUST and Value Partners Launch Hong Kong's First Academic Center for Investing
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Value Partners Group Limited (SEHK: 806) jointly announce today the launch of the Value Partners Center for Investing at the HKUST Business School - the first academic center of its kind in Hong Kong to support research and training on investment management.The Value Partners Center for Investing aims to contribute to Hong Kong's role as a pre-eminent regional asset management center through promoting and supporting a wide range of activities in relation to investment research and training. The realization of the Center has been made possible through a generous donation from Value Partners Group Limited of close to HK$10 million. The Center will become fully operational in September 2011.

The Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA (EMBA) program has surpassed all leading institutions in the world as it has once again been ranked no. 1 by the Financial Times 2009 EMBA global rankings.The success of the part-time Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program is largely attributed to the superb career track records of the graduating class in 2006 and their geographical diversity in terms of nationality and overseas working experience. The program is jointly offered by Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR Government, the Honorable Donald Tsang, along with other top officials and prominent community leaders, today joined the HKUST to celebrate the world No.1 ranking for the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA program.The Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program is a partnership between the HKUST Business School and the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Established a decade ago and well recognized ever since, the program ranks No.1 in the world in this year's Financial Times EMBA global rankings. This is the first time a Hong Kong-based program has topped an international rankings chart.
