Over 200 HKUST Scholars Named among the World's Top 2% Scientists 2025
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has achieved remarkable success in Stanford University's latest World's Top 2% Scientists 2025 list. A total of 204 scholars were recognised for their single-year impact, while 181 were acknowledged for their career-long impact, marking increases of 15% and 7%, respectively, compared to last year. These achievements underscore HKUST's significant academic and research prowess as a global top 50 university, dedicated to making an internationally recognised impact.14 HKUST scholars were ranked among the top 10 in the world in their sub-fields for both single-year and career-long impact, including (ordered by Single-year Impact Rank):

HKUST’s Response to the Tuition Fee Adjustment for UGC-funded Programs
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) acknowledges the decision made by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the University Grants Committee (UGC) regarding the phased adjustment of tuition fees for UGC-funded programs.

HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP Welcomes Policy Address
Prof. Nancy IP, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), warmly welcomes and expresses deep appreciation for the comprehensive range of initiatives introduced by Chief Executive Mr. John LEE in his Policy Address today, especially those aim to position Hong Kong as a prominent global hub for post-secondary education and further promote the city as an international center for innovation and technology.
The initiatives, which include doubling the admission quota of non-local students at government-funded universities to 40%, scaling up investment in research and development, establishing the third InnoHK cluster, building the “Northern Metropolis University Town”, developing Hong Kong into a health and medical innovation hub, as well as different measures to attract and retain talent, will effectively enhance Hong Kong's position as a global innovation powerhouse with strong intellectual property value.

HKUST Announces Appointment of Prof. PONG Ting-Chuen as Vice-President for Administration and Business
