The School of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School (HKUST Business School) announced to partner with two of the world's top business schools to launch a portfolio of dual-degree master's programs (M2M) designed to prepare aspiring young people for global roles. The M2M programs are a collaboration among five schools, under which the HKUST Business School has partnered with two of them namely the Yale School of Management (Yale SOM) and HEC Paris to offer three options of dual degrees as follows: HKUST-Yale Master of Science in International Management (MIMT) Program HEC-HKUST Master of Science in International Management (MIMT) Program HKUST-Yale Master of Science in Global Operations (MSGO) Program

Prof Ba Shusong, Chief China Economist of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) and Chief Economist of China Banking Association, presented a gripping lecture on Hong Kong’s role as a global financial center in facilitating renminbi-denominated assets allocation, in the wake of renminbi globalization. The lecture took place at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on 16 November 2017. The talk entitled “Pricing renminbi assets: the disruptive trends behind renminbi joining the ranks of international currencies” was organized by HKUST Business School’s Executive MBA for Chinese Executives (HKUST EMBA) Program, a world-class bilingual program specifically designed for Chinese speaking executives and entrepreneurs in Asia and the Greater China.

Yash AGRAWAL, a Year 3 student of Individualized Interdisciplinary Major Program (IIM), attended Harvard University as a Visiting Undergraduate Student last term to explore history of the Earth and astronomy.

The 2017-2018 HKUST Intramural Athletics Meet was held successfully through the co-operation of event organizers (Sports Association and Students? Track and Field Club, HKUSTSU), 6 sports advisors from Student Affairs Office as chief officials, over 60 UG student volunteers.

Miss WONG Man Yi Rachel (Year 3, Division of Life Science) is an elite athlete in Acrobatic Gymnastics. She represented Hong Kong in?Level 6 Mixed Pair Category? at the Acrobatic Gymnastics National Championships 2017. The competition was taken place from 22 to26 Nov 2017 in Jiangsu which attracted all top acrobatic gymnasts from China to compete with each other.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) held its 25th Congregation today (17 November) and conferred honorary doctorates on four eminent academics and community leaders.  The Honorable Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the HKSAR government and Chancellor of the University, GBM, GBS, presided over today’s ceremony.  HKUST honorary doctorates were awarded to four outstanding individuals in recognition of their distinguished achievements and contributions.  This year’s recipients were (in alphabetical order): Prof Emmanuelle Charpentier, Director of the Department of Infection Biology at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology – Doctor of Science honoris causa Mr Ian Fok Chun-Wan, Chief Executive Officer of Fok Ying Tung Group – Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has risen one place to rank 12th worldwide and No. 1 in Greater China in the high-profile annual Global Employability University Ranking this year.  HKUST graduates have been ranked the world’s top 20 most employable and the most employable in Greater China five years in a roll.
