HKUST President Prof. Nancy IP and PHYS Chair Prof. CHAN Che-Ting introduced two HKUST projects that were funded by the Research Grants Council (RGC)’s Areas of Excellence Scheme (AoE), namely "Molecular Neuroscience: Basic Research and Drug Discovery" and "Novel Wave Functional Materials for Manipulating Light and Sound" respectively. 

HKUST signed three agreements with Tsinghua University to foster collaboration in research and education. 

LIFS Assoc. Prof. LIANG Chun and his team have developed a gel that targets DNA replication-initiation proteins (DRIPs) to selectively kill cancer cells, having secured funding in the second round of Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus (RAISe+) Scheme launched by the ITC. 

HKUST and BYD Auto Industry Company Limited (BYD) signed a cooperation framework agreement to launch the HKUST-BYD Embodied Al Joint Lab.

Cognitact Managing Director Dr. OUYANG Li introduced the project “multi-center clinical development of blood biomarker panels for detection of prodromal, mild cognitive impairment and early Alzheimer's disease" on an RTHK radio program.
