HKUST 24th Congregation
HKUST's 24th Congregation was held on 17 & 18 November 2016. Over 100 IPO graduates from Dual Degree Program in Technology and Management (T&M-DDP), Risk Management & Business Intelligence Program (RMBI), Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT), MPhil/PhD Environmental Science, Policy and Management (ESPM) and MSc Environmental Science and Management (EVSM) attended the Congregation Ceremony on 17 November 2016 at the Atrium.

HKUST Committed to Nurturing Young Research Talents Three Undergraduates Publish Paper in Nature Communications
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is dedicated to nurturing students’ passion and interests in research. Three undergraduate students have recently discovered a method that could make production of entangled photon pairs (biphotons) – an essential element for quantum communication and quantum network – much easier and cheaper, taking popularization of such next-generation communication a step closer to reality.

HKUST and University of Waterloo Jointly Offer Dual PhD Degrees
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the University of Waterloo have signed an agreement that will allow doctoral students from various disciplines to earn a dual PhD from both institutions.
The President of HKUST Prof Tony F Chan, and President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waterloo Prof Feridun Hamdullahpur, have signed an agreement for a cotutelle - a dual doctoral degree program offered by both institutions. Selected students from any faculty will study under the guidance of scholars from both universities, spending almost equal time in both locations. This agreement broadens the two universities’ existing partnership on a dual engineering PhD degree, signed last year.
