Biography
Dr. Kitty Yam was appointed Associate Vice-President for Development and Alumni, effective 2 April 2026.
Dr. Yam joined the administration of HKUST in April 2024 as the Special Assistant to the President and Director of Development and Alumni. She has been instrumental in significantly enhancing our connections with alumni and the community. Under her professional guidance and strategic leadership of the Development and Alumni Office, Dr. Yam has spearheaded a series of impactful campaigns that have substantially advanced the University’s initiatives in alumni engagement and development. With an expanded portfolio encompassing multiple key initiatives, Dr. Yam’s efforts have opened new avenues for development and collaboration, reinforcing HKUST’s standing as a forward-looking institution committed to fostering long-term partnerships and community collaboration.
With her extensive experience, vast network, and impressive track record of success, Dr. Yam will continue to make meaningful contributions to HKUST in her new role. Her expertise will be valuable in providing comprehensive strategic direction for the University’s development, fundraising, and alumni relations initiatives.
Before joining HKUST, Dr. Yam served as the Director of Alumni Affairs and Development at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2010 for over seven years. In 2016, she was appointed Associate Vice President (Institutional Advancement), where she took on additional responsibilities for developing initiatives aimed at enhancing the University’s sustainable development and fostering effective relationships with various stakeholders. Dr. Yam began her career at Po Leung Kuk, where she served as the Head of Fundraising for the last six years, overseeing fundraising and stakeholder engagement functions.
