Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Vice-President for Institutional Advancement Prof. Yang Wang and Ms. Yvonne Li, Head of Global Engagement & Greater China Affairs, travelled to Amsterdam and The Hague this week, on the occasion of the “Cultural Heritage and Peace: Building on 70 years of the Hague Convention” organized by UNESCO and the Government of The Netherlands.
Prof. Wang met with H. E. Ambassador TAN Jian at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of the Netherlands on May 14, at which he shared HKUST's engagement with higher education institutions in the region for fostering academic and research excellence. In an effort to promote international impact, Prof. Wang also met with representatives of The University of Amsterdam and Delft University of Technology to renew ties and explore new ways to deepen collaborations in areas of student mobility, faculty exchange and joint strategic research to address pressing global challenges.
Alumni are HKUST’s best ambassadors overseas. During the visit, Prof. Wang connected with close to 20 alumni at a dinner gathering in Amsterdam, sharing updates about the university.
