Supported by Sustainability Unit, Campus Services Office and Facilities Management Office, the student initiated Take-away Box Circular Program that grabbed multiple media?s attention successfully launched last month and engaged more than 400 students and staff to get involved.

香港科技大學(科大)今年第八屆的百萬元創業大賽，將再多兩個內地城市舉辦，令這項區域性賽事的規模，擴展至涵蓋大中華區內七個城市。而科大亦將於本港的比賽中加入新元素，以提升參加者的比賽體驗，促進多元化並加強公眾參與度。 科大於香港站的賽事，今年獲得信和集團的慷慨支持，易名為「香港科技大學—信和百萬元創業大賽2018」。科大創業大賽由最初一個推動校內創業文化的平台，逐漸發展成一項地區性賽事，於二零一六年首度擴展至北京、廣州、深圳及澳門舉行，今年再拓展至佛山及中山，覆蓋大灣區11個地區中的6個地區，不但進一步加強科大與大灣區城市的聯繫與合作，更有助促進大中華區不同創業家之間的交流，刺激創意思維，互相學習進步。 本地賽事中，今年獲甄選得以參與「電梯簡報」環節的參賽隊伍，將達24支，較去年增加一倍。這環節模擬創業者於現實生活中經常遇到的情節，在升降機中遇到潛在投資者，並只得約90秒﹕即約一程升降機的時間，介紹其創業計劃，屬既緊張又刺激的體驗。 為促進公眾參與，科大更首次推出網上公開投票環節，24支隊伍於「電梯簡報」環節中的表現，將被放到網上，予大眾投票選出表現最佳的隊伍。公眾投票結果於「電梯簡報獎」的評審中將佔百分之十的分數。 此外，科大亦將成立網上配對平台，協助參賽團隊與來自不同地區、有興趣參與賽事的人士及公司組隊。科大創業中心主任陳雙幸教授認為，這個平台將推動比賽趨多元化：「學生、舊生、研究人員、學院和職員可以跟本地或來自全球其他大學和企業的人，組成不同的合作團隊。我們認為將不同背景的創業者連結在一起，可刺激多角思維，更有效提升創意。」

Frank has had a dream of flying from a young age, and he showed a keen interest in the research and development of unmanned helicopter technology during his time at HKUST. In 2005, he and his team participated in ABU Robocon and won third prize among teams competing from across Asia. In 2006, he completed his final thesis at HKUST, which included the development of a flight control system for unmanned platforms. He then founded DJI based on this system, and became the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technical Officer of the company.

Environmental Management & Technology Program (EVMT) Alumni Homecoming Day was held on 3 March 2018 to bring EVMT graduates back together to cultivate, foster, maintain and support closer relationship between alumni, current students and faculty members

LOVE1010 is a brand new initiative by the Counseling and Wellness Center this year and will be made available annually with different essential topics that students would need in developing intimate relationships, which is often not covered in school curriculum.

The 57th USFHK Annual Athletic Meet organized by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK) was held on Sunday, 11 th March 2018 at Joint Sport Centre, Kowloon Tong.
