The 2017-2018 HKUST Intramural Athletics Meet was held successfully through the co-operation of event organizers (Sports Association and Students? Track and Field Club, HKUSTSU), 6 sports advisors from Student Affairs Office as chief officials, over 60 UG student volunteers.

Miss WONG Man Yi Rachel (Year 3, Division of Life Science) is an elite athlete in Acrobatic Gymnastics. She represented Hong Kong in?Level 6 Mixed Pair Category? at the Acrobatic Gymnastics National Championships 2017. The competition was taken place from 22 to26 Nov 2017 in Jiangsu which attracted all top acrobatic gymnasts from China to compete with each other.

香港科技大學(科大)於本年度的全球大學就業能力排名(Global Employability University Ranking 2017) ，躍升一級至全球第12名，同時位列大中華之首。科大畢業生就業能力已連續五年高踞大中華榜首及全球首20名。 科大校長陳繁昌教授對大學排名上升表示欣喜，他說：「科大畢業生長期獲評為環球人力市場中最具競爭力及最受歡迎的僱員之列，我深感驕傲，這是對他們個人素質及工作能力的肯定。作為亞洲頂尖學府之一，科大致力為同學提供一個創新、全面且兼容不同文化的學習環境，培育他們成為不同領域的專業人才，以及具有國際視野、靈活思維和解難能力的領導者。」 第七屆全球大學就業能力排名訪問了約6,000名來自全球超過22個國家的招聘顧問與行政人員。報告列出院校多個吸引全球僱主的重要因素﹕包括大學教員質素、研究設施、學術領域的表現、學生是否具備國際視野、大學聲譽及畢業生經驗等。至於僱主甄選員工的主要考量因素，則包括其靈活性、積極性、溝通技巧、適應能力、對別國文化的敏感度及處理壓力的能力。調查由法國人力資源顧問公司Emerging及領先研究機構Trendence合作進行，訪問來自美國、中國、日本、英國、加拿大、澳洲、巴西、印度及其他地區的僱主，當中超過一半曾於國外招聘員工。 為培育出卓越的僱員，科大積極與全球超過300間頂尖學府及機構合作，當中包括逾230間來自37個國家及地區的交流夥伴，透過交流、實習與義工服務，加強學生的全球經驗。現時，超過一半的科大本科生會到海外交流一個學期或以上。

Nearly 50 new students of T&M-DDP survived and felt accomplished in the survival camp held on 8-10 September 2017 at Sai Wan, Sai Kung, by completing various leadership training tasks in the wilderness.

Risk Management & Business Intelligence Program (RMBI) arranged a training workshop on Tableau, a business intelligence system, for RMBI students on 26 September 2017.

On 18 October 2017, the 2017-18 HKUST Sports Teams Flag Presentation Ceremony was held at the Atrium to kick-offthe intervarsity sports competition seasons this year.

To utilize the natural resources and reduce the operational cost of the orphanages, a group of HKUST students from Connect service learning program have spent the last two summers there to help build a solar energy system as the country is shiny for most of the time during the year.

Resilience is the ability to "bounce back" from adverse situations, such as trauma, tragedy, threats, or other significant sources of stress. Several factors are found to enhance people's resilience. They are "R.E.B.O.U.N.C.E.".
