香港科技大学(科大)宣布与红十字国际委员会(ICRC)开展合作计划，范围涵盖研究工作与一系列活动，包括工作坊及为科大生预留实习机会等，合作旨在促进国际人道工作，并让学生透过体验式学习提升国际视野。 科大师生将透过今次合作，与ICRC专为促进与包括科大等机构开展研究工作而成立的新部门，就人道工作对发展中国家所带来的经济效益，进行统计研究。此外，科大同学亦获预留一个实习生名额。作为一个三度获得诺贝尔和平奖的人道救援组织，ICRC的实习名额一向为全球竞争目标，而今次也是ICRC首次预留实习生名额予本港院校的学生。 被选中的学生必须善于沟通、积极主动及对人道工作有兴趣和热诚，他/她将到ICRC位于日内瓦的总部工作一年，协助处理外交事务，接待包括国家领事代表和国际集团管理层等组织捐款者与合作伙伴。 为了让科大同学感受ICRC前线员工每天面对的挑战，ICRC亦于二月在科大举办「模拟工作坊」，安排了一整天的小组讨论、汇报及角色扮演。这个工作坊亦是ICRC于亚洲首次举行。 科大学生事务处副处长(辅学课程)兼科大侍学行项目主任汪含芳女士认为，今次的安排为学生提供一个前所未有的机会，她表示﹕「我们十分荣幸可以与这个独特的国际人道救援组织展开合作，是次计划不只对科大学生有利，同时也为科大教职员及校友提供一个平台，提高他们对全球议题的参与。」 今次合作为「科大侍学行」的最新项目。「科大侍学行」乃科大一个小区参与计划，透过跟广大小区持续合作及举办各种活动，提升学生的学习体验及公民意识，并促进教职员对推行公民教育的投入。 ICRC政府事务及捐款者关系区域市场主管叶维昌先生表示﹕「通过这个实习计划，亚洲的学生得以从一个国际人道救援组织获得直接及充实的经验，我希望未来将有更多来自亚洲的年轻专业人士加入ICRC。」 经过多轮面试，环球商业管理及营运管理学四年级学生黄子容最终脱颖而出，将于今年六月中开始有关实习。
