Two groups of students spent the past year building soil. The project not only produced compost for direct use on campus; it also involved the development of a composting method and innovative composter design.

Supported by Sustainability Unit, Campus Services Office and Facilities Management Office, the student initiated Take-away Box Circular Program that grabbed multiple media?s attention successfully launched last month and engaged more than 400 students and staff to get involved.

These are some of the creative moves our fellow cabinets have made to support Green Promotion. Big events like Promotion period and graduation ceremony are also some peaks that create huge amount of waste like leaflets that are merely read through, decoration materials.

八所教资会资助大学将于本月12日联合发起「八大走饮管」环保运动，以减少使用即弃塑料饮管。 此运动标志着香港城市大学、香港浸会大学、岭南大学、香港中文大学、香港教育大学、香港理工大学、香港科技大学及香港大学共同努力减少塑料废物。 八所大学将会分别于3月12至16日期间，在校内举办「无饮管周」或「无饮管日」，届时校园内的食肆只会在要求下才提供饮管。其他活动包括电影放映会、零废物市场及派发可循环再用的饮管。 此外，八所大学亦承诺订立长远的措施，包括定期举办提升环保意识的活动、无饮管日或于校园内全面停止使用塑料饮管。

香港科技大学（科大）研究人员最近开发了一项突破性融合技术，能显著提高室内定位的准确度，实现以位置为本的新型智能定位应用软件，如室内导航、根据位置的个人化推荐系统、人群分析及人流管理等。

In addition to government assurances, HKUST carries out different measures to deliver the best quality water for the HKUST community. Each campus water fountain is installed with filter and UV disinfection that removes particulates and kills bacteria.

香港科技大学一向以研究及学术实力著称，但鲜为人知的是，科大也致力成为香港最环保的大学之一。在过去一年，矢志成为环保先锋的科大努力不懈，并取得丰硕成果。 综观今年达成的环保里程碑，有多项计划均由科大社群推动，当中包括完全由学生及职员组成的科大绿色小组，他们推出了环保饭盒计划，鼓励校园每一分子购买外卖时自备可再用器皿。计划反应热烈，成功节省逾2,500个即弃饭盒。
