With the generous sponsorship of Wong Chak Chui International Enrichment Scholarship 2016/17, four IPO students went aboard to take up internships and earned eye-opening working experiences in different industries.

Internships are an important part of university life to gain real world working experience as well as discovering and understanding yourself. As Pishun (T&M-DDP) said, "whatever you do, do not restrict yourself by what you study, because the future is full of possibilities."

In the past 2016/17 academic year, Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management (T&M-DDP) students joined various competitions and demonstrated their outstanding abilities and potentials of future consultants and engineers.

IPO Student Ambassadors gathered at year-end dinner to share their outreach experience.

The Summer Internship Closing Ceremony, organized by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) was held successfully on 11 August 2017, indicating that the AA Summer Internship Program 2017 finally came to an end.

香港科技大学（科大）于学生宿舍推出全新「首年住宿生活体验」计划，旨在让一年级新生顺利过渡和适应大学生活，并透过各项宿舍活动，为新生营造关爱共融的学习环境。 科大一向致力充实同学的大学生活，今次的先导计划，为约500位新生﹕当中包括约四分一非本地生，提供满一个学年的住宿安排。入住宿舍期间，他们将获得「本科生学长导师」的照料。这批高年级学长会安排不同活动，以便宿生们建立友谊，协助新生融入环境。 科大现为所有一年级学生提供最少一个学期的住宿安排，此计划启动后，大学将逐步提升新生的入宿比例，期望最终所有新入学的本科生，均获最少一年大学住宿的机会。

IPO Director Prof King Chow, EVMT Program Co-Director Prof Arthur Lau shared why interdisciplinary BSc in Environmental Management and Technology program (EVMT) became the most popular HKUST JUPAS choice for DSE students in recent years.

In line with its commitment to serving the local community, the Interdisciplinary Programs Office joined hands with The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) to launch again the 25th Anniversary event "Innovating Today, Imagining Tomorrow" Mentorship Program in 2016/17.
