CHAN Kai Ho, Hercules, a year 4 student of Risk Management & Business Intelligence Program (RMBI) has won the Champion of International Space-Out Competition in Taipei. As a US certified hypnotherapist, Hercules encourages students to space-out which helps improve mental status.

Miss WONG Man Yi Rachel (Year 3, Division of Life Science) is an elite athlete in Acrobatic Gymnastics. She represented Hong Kong in?Level 6 Mixed Pair Category? at the Acrobatic Gymnastics National Championships 2017. The competition was taken place from 22 to26 Nov 2017 in Jiangsu which attracted all top acrobatic gymnasts from China to compete with each other.

On 18 October 2017, the 2017-18 HKUST Sports Teams Flag Presentation Ceremony was held at the Atrium to kick-offthe intervarsity sports competition seasons this year.

Risk Management and Business Intelligence (RMBI) students Charles WONG and Florence SZETO together with their teammates from The University of Hong Kong won the Champion of the HSBC Financial Dialogue Series - FinTech Challenge 2017 in early August 2017.

Risk Management and Business Intelligence (RMBI) students won the "Best Business Idea Award" in EY Hackathon Hong Kong 2017 with a flight delay prediction project which was recommended as the highest commercial value project in the competition.

香港科技大學（科大）機械人團隊(團隊)今年橫掃各項本地及國際賽事合共九項殊榮，當中包括於海洋先進技術教育（MATE）在美國加州長灘舉辦的國際遙控機械人（ROV）大賽中，勇奪世界冠軍。是該比賽自2002年開始，首支贏得世界賽全場總冠軍的亞洲團隊。 繼團隊的Robocon小隊「火之龍」於今年六月的全港大專生機械人大賽中八度奪冠後，另一支專責設計水底機械人的科大機械人小隊「白鯨」，亦擊敗來自歐洲、美加、亞洲，以及中東地區的24支冠軍隊伍，奪得國際遙控機械人大賽世界賽的全場總冠軍以及安全意識獎。 團隊導師兼科大環球社會中心總監胡錦添教授認為，團隊的成績斐然，全因隊員上下一心，全力以赴應戰。他說：「他們來自不同的國家與文化背景，說不同的語言，但每次面對問題，他們總能利用事實和理據這些共同語言，克服障礙，充分體現科學、科技、工程和數學（STEM）教育的精神。」 15名來自10個不同地區的團員，利用各自的文化特質，為「白鯨」隊帶來獨特的優勢。例如香港的團員經常遊走深水埗鴨寮街一帶，尋求改善機械人性能的「貼士」、來自內地的隊員則埋首淘寶採購重要的機械人組件、印尼的成員協助團隊收集其國家所舉辦的同類型賽事資料；而來自美國及加拿大的成員，則以流利的英語向評審解說科大機械人的設計理念。 國際遙控機械人大賽的參賽隊伍，須控制他們的機械人於15分鐘內在水底完成包括建築工程、維護工程、環境清理及緩解風險四項任務。團隊亦須就其設計的機械人制定宣傳策略與相關推廣文件，包括編制報告等，以證明機械人符合所有技術及安全要求。 有關香港科技大學

The new Library website was rolled out in August 2016, with massive content migration completed in that summer. It replaced our 20 years old in-house developed library website system with a completely new look and design. The website was so well developed, it was granted the Best in Class Award in the 2017 Interactive Media Awards competition, indicating that the project had met and surpassed the standards of excellence, and the website had met strict guidelines in all areas ? an achievement that only a small fraction of sites in the competition could obtain.

Wendy CHENG and Maryellen WAT, Year 4 students of Environmental Management & Technology Program (EVMT), won the 2nd Business Sustainability & Risk Management Case Analysis Competition 2017 organized by The Association of International Accountants (AIA)-Hong Kong Branch. It's the second consecutive year that IPO students won the championship.
