HKUST(GZ)’s Preparatory Status Approved by the State Ministry of Education
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has started a new chapter as The State Ministry of Education (MoE) has approved its application for proceeding to establish The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST (GZ)). The new campus will synergize with and maintain the same academic standard as that of its Clear Water Bay (CWB) counterpart. HKUST (GZ) will nurture talent and facilitate collaboration amongst Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and beyond on education, research and commercialization, while strengthening knowledge transfer to bridge Hong Kong’s gap in high-tech manufacturing.

HKUST Receives HK$100 Million Donation from Yuexiu for the University’s Development and Sponsorship on HKUST’s One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition National Grand Final
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) held the “Yuexiu Group Donation Presentation cum HKUST-Yuexiu Group One Million Dollar International Entrepreneurship Competition Grand Final Sponsorship Ceremony” today, to express its gratitude for a HK$100 million donation made by Yuexiu Group (Yuexiu) in support of the University’s efforts in research, innovation and talent grooming. The group will also provide HKUST with a RMB10 million sponsorship for the cultivation of quality entrepreneurial projects in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, in order to enhance the concerted efforts of knowledge transfer in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

HKUST Signs Collaboration Agreements with Guangzhou Government and Guangzhou University to Establish HKUST (GZ)
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology officially signed agreements today with the Guangzhou Municipal Government and Guangzhou University to establish Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST (GZ)), marking an important milestone in the University’s advancement. HKUST (GZ) will help steer frontier development of HKUST in education, science and technology, business and management as well as knowledge transfer, adding forces to Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA) which are gaining traction in innovation.
